Broken bone in his left wrist. This could take some time.

Man, what a treat for us in Columbus here. After tonight, I believe the Bats' pitchers will be Dontrelle, Cueto, and Homer. I have 3 midterms this week, but I still may have to make my way downtown for 1 or 2 of those.

After Cozart flied out, Alonso lined a single to LF off a lefty. Hopefully he's starting to come around.

He has been bitten by some luck.... not really BABIP wise (though maybe, I honestly haven't looked), but he has more at bats against lefties than righties at this point in the season. That is a bit crazy to think about given that maybe 70% of the league is a righty.

Frazier struck out. Sappelt and Alonso pulled off a double steal, then Mesoraco walked to load the bases. Danny Dorn up with two outs.

Last season Alonso only went to 1B/2B in 25% of his at bats. For comparison, Mesoraco went to SS/3B 30% last season. Might be due to so many lefties he has faced this season so far?

I'm not too familiar with Reineke, but these last few starts have caught my eye. What kind of stuff does he have, and could he possibly contribute at the major league level if he keeps this up?

Billy Hamilton is so fast he had two additional inside the park home runs, but he circled the bases so fast he wound up back on first base, and no one noticed that he had scored.

How fast is that compared to say a Drew Stubbs or Andrew McCutchen of the Pirates?

I don't know how it compares, but I've seen more than 1 quote saying that various scouts think Billy is the fastest player in all of baseball.

From The Guinness Book of World Records: Fastest Base Runner
The record for the fastest time for circling the bases is 13.3 seconds, set by Evar Swanson at Columbus, Ohio in 1932. His average speed around the bases was 18.45 mph. The player who holds the record for the fastest time circling the bases is Ernest (Evar) Swanson, an outfielder with the Cincinnati Reds in 1929-1930.

In 1975, Mickey Rivers attempted to set the world record for the fastest time to circle the bases. The record is and was 13.1 seconds. Mickey's first, and only attempt, saw him trip at second base and finish in 14.1 seconds. He never made another attempt for the record.

Cool Papa Bell, the fastest man in baseball, could round the bases in 12 seconds . ... circling the bases, Cool Papa is recognized as the fastest player ever ...

In game 2 this season Hamilton had a ground rule double where the ball got lodged in the outfield wall. He didn't realize it though and circled the bases thinking he had an inside the park job. I have video of it and went back and timed it today using frame by frame video pinpointing the exact moment he made contact and the moment he touched home. Comes in at 14.18 seconds. Last season, according to the Wezen-ball tater trot tracker, the fastest run inside the park HR was 14.48 seconds by Angel Pagan.
