I was talking to a scout tonight and he told me about two trades that were close to happening but didn't. Thought I'd share.
The Yankess in July of 09 were going to send what basically was the same package they sent for Curtis Granderson to Colorado for Huston Street and Carlos Gonzalez. The Yankees' balked because they didn't like the sabermetrics.
Also the Dodgers were in talks about an Andy LaRoche for Zack Greinke swap.
