Wow!

Reds
04-25-2011, 05:46 PM
Phillips is our hottest and best option to hit cleanup with Rolen on the DL and Bruce slumping.

jrandal9
04-25-2011, 05:48 PM
This is crazy! Dusty actually trying something like this is a GREAT idea...I think. Bruce should actually get some pitches to hit, now he has no excuse to not turn it around. Just hope DatdudeBP doesn't think he needs to swing for the fences.:beerme:

WLW said he has been taking ground balls at 3rd?

Good to get the lineup changed. Bruce batting second will give him a better mindset.

Mike Leake can get you a great deal on those t-shirts.

WLW said he has been taking ground balls at 3rd?

I read that. Baker said he was something like miles away and the big leagues isn't really the place to learn the hot corner.. went on to say that he was drafted as an infielder so maybe he could work a bit at 3rd, pretty sure he responded with an answer like he was surprised hot fast the balls get on top of you at 3rd base.

yeah, basically he's our backup behind Rolen/fransico/miguel/valaka/renteria/janish

If he is number seven on the depth chart at third. And if the big leagues isn't the place to learn the hot corner. Then what is the point? Oh, nevermind, I just remembered who manages the Reds.

does Stubbs ever leadoff the game with something other than a K?

Vottomatic
04-25-2011, 08:12 PM
I swear........our print and radio media bring up some of the dumbest ideas. Heisey at third base? Give me a break. We have like 4 or 5 options before we even have to go there.

I heard a caller on Lance's show suggest playing Ramon at third. Ugh.

Bruce is on the hotseat. He better start to hit or they will find another option.

Heard a rumor today about a trade with the Mets on the table. It's in Walt's hands. We shall see what happens.

texasdave
04-25-2011, 08:12 PM

...well, except for that Votto hit.

Vottomatic
04-25-2011, 08:15 PM
well that was easy

Well Narveson is up there with Correia. They are shut down starting pitchers. Atleast when it comes to the Reds.

Jay Bruce. Money well spent. (sarcasm)

Geez. Let's package Stubbs and Bruce for a cleanup hitter and bring up Sappelt.

Remember Sappelt is working on his baserunning. Forget the fact that he is hitting well over .300. And everyone knows that running the bases is much more important than actually getting on base.

Reds
04-25-2011, 09:14 PM
based on how we've played the Brewers through 30 innings Milwaukee fans must think we're hitting on all cylinders.. not really the case. nice to see a lot of hits/runs early.

Arroyo doing his part at the plate!

Reds
04-25-2011, 09:17 PM
1st and 2nd, Stubbs showing his speed. 2 hits for Stubbs this inning alone.

Dusty is going to be forced to run this same lineup out again tomorrow, lol, no two ways around that.

CrimsonCrusader

4 run game going to the ninth, I would be hesitant to use Carlos Fisher unless we score some additional runs.. Just a few batters before Braun/Fielder bat and if you put guys on for those players they'll often find a way to beat you.

VottoFan54

One breakout inning + every starter had at least one hit + phillips stays hot + good starting pitching

2-2 on the road trip. Realistically it would be fine to get one of these next two.
