Did anyone else notice Prince Fielder last night facing Chapman. Chapman through a 99mph first pitch fastball for a strike, then an 85mph slider for another strike. After the 2nd pitch the camera zoomed in on Fielder and it appeared that he said "wow". Fielder proceeded to whiff on the next pitch....awesome.

Yeah I saw that sequence of pitches. 3 pitches, 3 strikes, and a ton of bafflement by Fielder. I started laughing when I saw that 3rd pitch. It is just unfair, especially to a left hander.

The only other person on the pitching staff I have the same reaction to is when Masset throws a 96mph fastball, then comes in with a hard curve. When Masset is on, his stuff is just plain old nasty, and I just laugh because the hitters have no chance. Bwahahahaha!

I noticed this as well. He seemed baffled by the first pitch at 99. Chapman followed that up with an 88 mph slider to which Fielder responded with a "wow" and then preceded to strike out on another slider on the next pitch. It looked like it was his first at bat in the big leagues.

That was a great look. I almost felt sorry for him up there. (Until I remembered what his paycheck is like.) :)

Same match up today...same result. Deer in headlights.

If Chapman develops a 3rd pitch, he could be one of the best in the league no joke. Closer or starter?

Fielder looked bewildered again today, even though the third strike was outside... wow indeed.

Viva el Chapman!!!

Dude is going to have a nice long run in MLB if he can stay healthy.

Quite honestly he already is one of the best in the league. Of relievers, that is.

As a SP he's going to need that 3rd pitch, though.

Supposedly he has a change up. If he can have just an average or slightly above average change up that he can throw for strikes, it is all over for NL hitters.
