Costanzo drives in Berry for a 1-0 Mudcats lead.

Didn't realize this is the first time in Puckett's career he has started at third.

Montgomery's pitcher, Matthew Moore, has fanned eight in three innings. Yikes.

The Puckett experiment at third has not started auspiciously. He has three errors in the game.

One of them wasn't a straight-out error. Tough to explain but it wasn't like a run of the mill error.
Once it started getting out of hand I kinda stopped paying attention. Oh well. Mudcats lose 8-1.

Travis Webb squares off against North Carolina native Chris Archer in what should be a good attended Thirsty Thursday.

Bakersfield pounded out 19 hits to win 11-6. Ryan LaMarre had four of them, which is good to see. Welinton Ramirez had three. The bullpen (Hayes, Gaffney, Salinas) pitched five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts.

From the DDN - Eric Davis on Billy Hamilton:

“You want to learn how to get through a whole year at one level,” Davis said. “When he proves he can do that, we’ll talk.

“It doesn’t do anything but hurt him to talk about moving him up. How you judge a player is by 400 to 500 at-bats in a league. That way, he can learn how to make changes. That’s what development, to me, is all about.”
