As frustrated as I can get with Gomes, he's just impossible for me to dislike. Love his attitude and outlook on baseball.

Jonny Gomes is the ultimate role model. He plays the game with 100% effort and works hard in the offseason to get better. I wish I were more like him in all aspects of life.

One of the guys at work mentioned that interview a few days ago, and I was about to google search it when I found this thread. Wow. I like Jonny anyway, this makes me like him more. He may occasionally drive me nuts as a player, but you can't fault his intensity and drive.

Not a big fan of tattoos, but his are well done.

+1. What could have happened if he had won that coin flip.... How can anyone not be a fan of Jonny Gomes??

I found this on ESPN and sent it to a friend who is a huge Reds fan and has started to become fed up with Jonny Gomes. I've always loved Jonny and am hoping this video helps to turn him around.

Stirring stuff that he's been through and he has managed to live his life to the fullest since he was a kid! It's remarkable.

I'm always defending Jonny in the game threads...the term "intangibles" tends to be the butt of jokes, but I love what Gomes brings to the team, even when he's going through a slump.

Then he snaps into one of his homerun streaks, and it's even better.
