GOYA,

Is Cochran going tomorrow night?

It's his turn in the rotation.

But I don't know what's going to happen with Leake joining the team.

Was Alonso nicked or something? He was pinch-hit for.

It was announced in the ORG, but Chapman was placed on the DL. Jordan Smith was recalled from Louisville.

Cochran will probably go tomorrow night for the Bats in Durham. Per the Bats twitter page, Mike Leake will be on the mound Wednesday in Durham. That is a 12:05 start.

Somehow, I see a "rehab" stint in Louisville.

James Skelton, in his Carolina debut, had the only RBI and extra-base hit (2B) for Carolina, which lost 6-1. Kyle McCullough and Travis Webb pitched very well. Lee Tabor did not. Webb, a starter for most of his career, has pitched eight innings of shutout relief in his last two appearances.

The Venezuelan Summer League started yesterday. The VSL Reds won their first game, 8-3. One kid to watch for is outfielder Jonniel Mier y Teran. He was one of the Reds most notable Latin American signings last year according to Baseball America. Mier y Teran is a 17-year old OFer from Maracay, Venezuela. He is listed at 6-foot-1, 170 pounds and throws/bats RH. In his first game, Mier y Teran went 1-for-3 with a triple, walk, and two RBI.
