Id like to know the reasoning behind PIT playing their last game here this season.

With that being said, atleast I get to watch the game on the PIT station :D. With that being muted lol

MLB Network only game as I understand, not sure who's broadcasting.

Also I don't know why the Pirates played here six times so early.. last time it happened like this was in 1981.

i doubt we would have scored if anyone else were batting either, having only 1 run in this game u have to be mad at the rest of the offense as well. Scoring 1 run in 2 games is just piss poor, this offense is still all or nothing. Were either scoring a bunch of runs or getting shut out.

Cowboy was talking on the air about "how quickly the offense can go away," but the offense really wouldn't have done much without the Cubs' help in that last series. This club still has some major issues with the lineup and being able to consistently manufacture runs.

I always cringe when someone with an ERA like McDonald sports takes the mound versus the Reds. Seems like it all but guarantees one of these days.

I think a couple things are at play here. First off I was very concerned that we would have a let down after the Cards series and we have. You see it all the time in sports when teams have big games or series that the games that follow they have let downs. Also the Reds seem to struggle against no name pitchers and do well against the good ones. Lastly i think the lineup Dusty goes with doesn't provide them with any flow.

We swept the Cards and had a 5-2 homestand. For whatever reason the Pirates have our number this season. I think the road trip will be tough and can see us returning 5-5.

I dont know ... these last two days have to cause concern.

CLE 2/3
PHI 1/4
ATL 1/3

This is my prediction for the upcoming road trip, returning 4-6 at best

That was ridiculous. This team should truly be ashamed.

So the past two games cause you more concern then seeing how we did against the Cards?

Why?

Why?

Examine their record vs. Arizona and Pittsurgh.

So what? Look at their overall record, look at their record vs. the Central division?

Losing that many games against poor teams is like leaving food on the table. We're now headed out to Atlanta and Philly, and I'm guessing we'll severely regret leaving that food on the table once we get back.

What makes you think we won't win in Cleveland, philly or Atlanta? We have beaten up on the Cards and Brewers, both whom are considered good teams. I believe if you will look we have winning records against both of those teams.

Of this 7 game homestand, which do you think was more important, winning the 3 games vs the Cards and having a 5-2 homestand, or had we beaten the Cubs/Pirates and only taken 1 game in the Cards series for a 5-2 Homestand?

Last year we demolished bad teams but the Cards got the better of us. The Cards lost lots of games to inferior opponents. Look at how the the teams finished and tell me which place you'd rather be. Besides, the Brewers are not playing good baseball and haven't been all year. You just can't have a record as bad as ours is against teams like PIT and ARI and have high expectations.

I have read enough of your posts to get your schtick - it's quite obvious. Heck, the first post on the sun deck forum is you whining and crying about Gomes and Baker, yet I post that I am disappointed in our performance against bad teams and you magically transform into the world's biggest sunshine pumper. I have neither the time nor energy to tolerate such nonsense. You want to keep this discussion going? Have at it, but it's going to be a unilateral endeavor. I am done.

Ah, sorry - didn't mean to de-pants you like that. I had a crappy day at work and I come home and see we lost again to the Pirates...made a bad mood even worse. Sorry - that was uncalled for.

If we had losing records to the Cubs and Stros also i would be concerned, but it just so happens the Pirates have our number this year. I believe a few seaons back it was the Astros and last year it was the Cards. If the central was a stronger division i might be worried, but there is nothing I see from either the Cards or the Brewers right now that worries me. Also don't discount the Pirates, they are not playoff contenders but they sure are not horrible either.

Well, they sure as heck are better than they have been in years past, that's for sure....I really like McCutchen, Walker, Alvarez and Doumit....and that Morton....he does an amazing Halladay impression.
