Here is what Mets owner had to say about his players

Jose Reyes
"He thinks he's going to get Carl Crawford money," Wilpon says, referring to Crawford's seven-year, $142 million contract with the Boston Red Sox. "He's had everything wrong with him. He won't get it."

Carlos Beltran
Wilpon mentions Beltran's huge postseason with the Houston Astros in 2004 and says, referring to himself: "We had some schmuck in New York who paid him based on that one series. He's 65 to 70 percent of what he was."

David Wright
"Really good kid. A very good player. Not a superstar."

It is not going to end well in NY for the Mets, the owner, or the fans

I agree with what he's saying. But if I were an owner, I'd know better not to say it publicly.

I agree with everything except for Wright not being a superstar. He is a very good player looking at his last one or two seasons, but when you consider he has played 6 seasons with at least 530 AB and all six have had a .800 OPS with four of them having a .900 OPS, he is entering his prime so if he can bounce back to that form for another 3-4 seasons of those .900 OPS he will be a bonafide superstar if he isnt now.
