Nice to see Seabass choke after Marty professed his love for him

Seriously, what is it with Marty loving bad SS like Castro, AGon.. and then hating Larkin?

Leake, well done, young man!

And I think Stubbs should not be leading off anymore. Starting, definitely, just not leading off. 6th sounds about right.

Really nice game there from Leake. It seemed to me that he got squeezed pretty heavily early on and it kinda forced him more into the zone than he wanted to be. I'm not thrilled with the 3 walks, but they were mostly close. I thought he handled the pressure situations quite smoothly. As for left...Lewis is starting to grow on me. He doesn't look very smooth defensively out there, but he swings a pretty nice bat and he looks good on the basepaths.

Welcome back Mike. Job well done.

Big difference between them though. Stubbs provides top notch defense, will hit for a solid average, hit 20+ dingers, steal a ton of bases....basically put, he's a much more well-rounded ballplayer. I can live with the K's from a guy who can help in so many different ways. I'm still not convinced that he's best suited for leading off though.

Yeah to this point, Stubbs, by Fangraphs' calculations, has amassed two wins above replacement. Dunn, right now, is -0.3.

Yea, he looked much better, the curve seemed to keep them off balance. He's a hard one to figure out what we have there. I think if we put him in a rotation slot where he follows a hard thrower he could benefit. Of course, that only works within a series.

Again, Mike Leake succeeds on the baseball diamond.

What do you want to bet that if the Reds had a 3-on-3 pickup basketball tournament Leake would be on the winning team?
