How about Reds trade Bronson Arroyo and PTBNL to the Yankees for Brett Gardner

or

Will Venable, not the best, but could solve the leadoff situation, and could be aqcuired for very cheap.

Any other ideas?

I do not think anyone would be willing to bite on Arroyo untill he can put together a few good outings. I still don't think he is 100% healthy, like others have said it could still have something to do with his Mono that he had in spring training.

and how does Brett Gardner .329 OBP help above Stubbs .333 OBP.

or Will Venables with a .293 OBP and .584 OPS, you would have a fit if Renteria was to lead off and yet he would be an improvement on Venables

Very true about the OBP. Although they both have experience batting leadoff and are more than capable of stealing bases.

And Venable as an alternative to Gomes.

Denard Span could be a good target, Twins are in last place and they might become sellers

How about this guy with the Nats - Laynce Nix? His line so far this year? .306/.339/.568/.907. Just kidding.

If you're the Reds you can't part ways with Bronson Arroyo. The guy has been the anchor in the rotation for several years now. He'll get it back together here soon. You watch. ;)

The last thing we need to do right now is trade away pitching.

How about we trade Bailey, Wood, Cueto, Volquez and Leake to the Mets for Reyes and Beltran?

I still want Dennis Reyes.

Seriously, if it's a leadoff hitter we're looking for, Matt Kemp ($6.5M) is more economical than Jose Reyes ($11M). The problem is, if the Reds are looking for a 4-hole hitter, that 4-hole hitter most likely would have to play LF too.
