Having a terrible year for Seattle, has speed and has shown the ability in the past to get on base. Steals, could hit 1st and play 3rd or left. Mariners would gladly trade him. Have a hunch he would have a nice comeback leading off for the Reds. Could probably get him for Gomes, Mariners are always looking for power.

4 year contract @ $36 million, expiring in 2013 with an option for 2014.

He's 33 and his line is .186/.225/.248. Compared to Gomes' .185/.311/.377. Figgins only has 7 SB this year and 5 CS, so one of his greatest assets over his career -- his speed -- is leaving him.

Last year he hit .259/.340/.306. Is this really the type of player, at this stage in his career, at this price that the Cincinnati Reds need to take on? For a ~$9 million dollar payroll increase I'd say the Reds could do better than Chone Figgins, even if it means giving up more than Gomes.

I still think he has something left, but will admit he has sucked since he left the Angels. How does a guy go from being a really good player to horrible this quick?
He still runs well (I have watched a good number of Mariners games on MLB Baseball package) he just seems lost without a red and white uniform and a former Dodger as his manager. Might get the Mariners to eat part of the contract as well, they were willing to chop Milton Bradley loose.

No please no, hes not the player he once was, a few years ago, heck yeah but his contract for one thing is way to expensive and second, Stubbs is hitting .263 as a leadoff, Figgins is hitting .183 and your wanting to make him our leadoff?? I'll pass

Want to get a leadoff guy, so Stubbs can move down a bit in order. He mashed homers last year when we moved him to 6th and 7th in order.
