Carolina's daily defeat came today by the score of 5-3. Costanzo homered and doubled. Shunick and Boxberger pitched well in relief.

After being up two games to one...the team lost yet another series. Chapman's outing last night was costly. Boxberger is a very solid option out of the pen now and...Mike Costanzo pushed his BA from .271 to .289 during this series.

Tennessee in town for a five gamer starting tomorrow.

I read the box scores every day, but first time looking at the standings for Carolina. 19.5 games out this early in the year! I have to give credit to muddie and those few Carolina fans for still reporting this team to us.

Hopefully once a few draft guys sign we can can bump Boxberger up to Louisville. Would love to see him in the closer role for the Bats.

What's the story with Campbell in Carolina, is he the #1 3b there? Looks like he hasn't got many at bats yet.

Campbell has played outfield, ss, and pinch hit some.

Guess they are not viewing him very high after his Bakersfield performance. Tough to get into a rhythm the way he has been used.

It's kind of discouraging how old the AA team is, lot's of guys in their mid-late 20's.

Campbell is more or less a utility player at this point. I agree that Campbell isn't going to gain much traction in his current role. I believe the guy would be a contributor with regular time but apparently that isn't likely anytime soon. With Costanzo at third,Campbell is waiting in line.

The makeup of this team is difficult to define. It's like a lot of parts but not a lot of continuity or chemistry.

Cozart leads off the first with a base knock but gets picked off. Brandon Hynick on the bump. No score after half an inning.

Josh Smith going for Dayton. Nice numbers but he seems a bit old for that league.

It would be different it Campbell was a home-grown prospect but he's not.

Juan Francisco goes deep in the 7th but it's not enough. Bats lose 2-1. Frazier with a pinch-hit single in the 8th.

The Blaze have the night off and are, no doubt, walking the streets of Bakersfield.

I think Hamilton has a career in crime if this baseball thing doesn't work out.

Yep, that's why I mentioned him. But I found out he has a sore forearm. Nothing serious. Of course, last time I said that, Sappelt went on the DL.

Call up Cozart and get Janish/Renteria the heck out of there! What in the world are the Reds waiting for? Do they really need more proof that Paul Janish is not the answer at SS? Not saying Cozart definitely is, but there is no question he deserves a shot. Jocketty needs to quit slow-playing this thing before it's too late. As bad as it seems right now, the Reds are still very much in the race. They need to figure out something in LF ... and they need to make Cozart the starting SS. I can't believe this is even a debate. Isn't Cozart's defense not too far behind Janish's? I mean, Janish is clearly better defensively, but Cozart is a very-solid defensive SS in his own right. Plus, he's light years ahead of "Soft J" at the plate. I don't understand what is taking so long.

Dayton made some rosters moves Wednesday:

LHP Ezequiel Infante has been promoted to Dayton from Billings

LHP Tanner Robles has been sent from Dayton to Billings.

Yeah, the Cozart thing is now beyond puzzling. Especially considering how dissatisfactory Janeria is at SS in Cincy, and considering that Cozart has had PLENTY of minor league experience and appears to have solved the whole thing.

Lol I have never heard Janeria before but it definitely sounds like something you don't want to have. Walt should know better. Time to give Cozart a shot.
