They were up 6-1 in the 6th.

In the bottom of the 7th, they've given up 6 runs and 12 batters have reached base, six consecutive players reached base after there were already two outs.

I'd so much rather lose the division (if we must) to the Brewers than the Cardinals.

The Brewers are imploding in Chicago....led 3-0 and 4-1 in the 8th....

Have already given up 3 runs in the 8th....all tied up at 4-4.

How you blow a 4 run lead in the 7th inning without any of your best 4 relievers going is beyond me. Miguel Batista has the most deceptive ERA I've ever seen. If we were to lose this is the fashion I'd choose to lose in. Theriot, Batista, and Miller were awful. Miller I imagine will be better. Theriot needs at least to be moved off of SS to 2B and probably out of the lineup starting altogether. I'm not sure I've had less confidence in a reliever than I have with Batista on the mound.

Milwaukee 38 30 .559 -
St. Louis 38 30 .559 -
Cincinnati 36 33 .522 2.5

Just glad they did.

Another patented Tony LaRussa genius move by walking Ivan Rodriguez to get to... Laynce Nix. Whom Jason Motte promptly walked to give the Nats the lead for good.

Way to go, genius! You outfoxed everyone again.

Lay off him, he was drunk and didnt even know there was a game going on still. You owe him an apology, expect him to ask for one at least.

Cards suck..there are so many players on that team that are playing WAY over their head right now. They will crash down to earth....or at least I am praying they do *cough*.

What is the one thing Tony has that Dusty doesn't?

World Series Title...complain all you want, but the man knows how to coach and get his teams to the playoffs......

Getting more and more of a hunch that this race will eventually come down to the Reds and Milwaukee. Essentially everyone on the Cardinals except for Carp and Pujols have over-performed, and are due for a comedown (many of whom have already started to), while they have serious issues at the back of the bullpen and rotation.

Now 9 to 0 bottom of the 8th and all of the sudden the Cards are looking at a 5 game losing streak OUCH! They've got to be happy to be taking on the lowly Royals at home this weekend..

Ryan (Rich) Franklin needs to give up his pitching career and go back to the UFC.

Damn interleague play.

They get those jokes, and we get a solid Toronto team, plus the Yankees, a team they get to AVOID

And last year the Reds got the Indians for six while the Cards pulled the Blue Jays and Angels. Whining about the schedules is pretty pointless.

I have no idea how Ryan Franklin had the success he did with St. Louis. He has nothing.
He did have a couple very solid seasons for them though.

And, the Indians, who kicked our butts before they went into their tailspin.

The Cards have trouble beating bad teams.

The Brewers having so much trouble with the Cubs is Amazing. Looks like the Reds are going to be 2 back now.

Warms my heart to see the Cardinals lose. It's like Christmas in June.

Whoever runs the Nats sound system needs smacked. That old-timey car horn or whatever they play when they hit a homer would drive me NUTS if I was at the ballpark.

I saw the Reds play there 2 years ago....actually a really pretty park - nice place to watch a game.

Playing the Jays and the Yanks will put more butts in the seats, so it's a positive in my opinion! Furthermore, proving the Reds can hold their own against the Yankees would do a lot for the momentum of the season.
