I've said it many times before, but that is a nasty line-up right there.

It seems an odd time for a Valaika callup. ;)

Chris Mobley moved from Triple-A Louisville to Double-A Carolina. RHP Jason Braun placed on the inactive list.

With the 40 man spot opened and him not playing tonight, clearly it means Corky is coming back to the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you'll like Mobley down there. I would have thought it would have been Jackson.

It'll be a good boost to the Mudcats' bullpen. A Double-A veteran with closing experience.

The Bats will be hitting against Kevin Millwood tonight.

This season in AAA:

31 IP
15 ER
32 H
6 BB
24 K

This seems like a good pitcher for the Bats to hit against. He throws a lot of strikes which is a good match for the Bats hitter's aggressiveness.

Pawsox go ahead 4-3 in the 10th. Yonder's lack of speed in LF cost them that run.

It's incredible to think that, as consistently well as Boxberger has pitched all season as a closer, that was only his fourth save. Opportunity has been a stranger to his door.

Grandal had two hits, including a 2B. Campbell played LF. Rodriguez played SS. Anybody know if Rojas is close to returning?

Eliezer Beard gets the start tonight for the AZL Reds. It'll be interesting to see how he fares. He's 6-4, 202, and had a 1.81 ERA in the DSL last year as a 19-year-old.

. . . Gave up an unearned run and struck out two in the first.

I talked to him tonight. He said he was going to do infield tomorrow to see how his shoulder is. He said it feels way better than it did five days ago. He can hit, he just can't throw yet. Maybe three to five days before he returns.

Decent line in Bakersfield

Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Serrano 7.2 5 3 3 2 8 3 3.72

But Serrano is just too old to be in A+ ball.

They are up 5-3 in the 8th.

I was at the Bats game last night and noticed that Ted Power was not in the dugout, instead, I believe Mario Soto was the pitching coach. Does anyone know why?

Kinda late but infielder Miguel Rojas was activated from the 7-day disabled list and the Mudcats placed outfielder Quintin Berry on the 7-day disabled list with a "thumb injury."
