Pedro Villarreal goes for Carolina tonight in the penultimate game of the six game series in Tennessee.

There are several hitting streaks on the line tonight. Phipps and Soto extended their individual hitting streaks to 11 games last night, while Costanzo's stretched to 10.

There has been a change of pitching assignments going forward for Carolina. Brandon Hynick will move into the rotation and Tim Gustafson will go to the pen.

Villarreal is done after a tough night. Poor defense and a lack of offense ends his night. Freeman on in relief.

Why has Coddington been playing the last three games instead of Fleury? Is Fleury nursing some type of injury or something? He should be the "everyday" catcher in Bakersfield IMO. Of course catchers are going to need days off, but Fleury should definitely be getting more playing time than Coddington.

BTW: Ryan LaMarre has a single a steal ... and is up to .288 with 24 steals.

Still some interesting guys there -- Gregorius, Lamarre, Greene (I think he's a prospect), Sulbaran, Crabbe, Ravin. Not a wasteland, IMO.
