Shocked this is all on the thread because...

Cozart is out of the lineup today

And we should all be speculating about his flight ticket to STL.

Tonights game in Tennessee is a replay of sorts. Klinker will face off against Kenneth McNutt for the second time in the same series which is somewhat of an anomaly. First time around on June 28th McNutt went three innings giving up four earned runs. Klinker went four innings giving up seven earned runs. Hoping Matt is better this time around.

An infield hit, a walk, an error on the pitcher (Jerry Gil), a hit batter . . . Louisville gives up three in the eighth and loses 4-2. Alonso, Mesoraco and Hermida go down swinging in the ninth against the immortal Justin Germano.

It was a fluky way to blow a ballgame, but the fact is, Louisville isn't performing like it should. Either that, or we've vastly overrated the talent on that team. The most perplexing thing is that they aren't scoring much. At least not lately. The individual stats are still good, for the most part, but for whatever reason it hasn't translated.

The Louisville Bats are the worst "great" team I've ever seen. (If that makes any sense. The point being they should be much better than they are with that killer lineup. Pitching shouldn't be too bad either with Willis and Carroll at the top of the rotation, and guys like Fisher, Horst and Boxberger in the pen.)

Folks, if Dayton keeps the current rotation intact, it could be very interesting: Corcino, Smith, Renken, Lotzkar, Gerson. With Torreyes now in the lineup, Duran figuring it out, Hamilton and Yorman looking better . . .

Man those Dayton Dragons are a fun team to follow right now. No way Josh Smith stays in low-A much longer, but the rest of those guys should all finish out the year in Dayton.

Do you think they send Smith and Corcino to Bakersfield or to Double-A next year?

Do you think they send Smith and Corcino to Bakersfield or to Double-A next year?

Corcino will definitely be in Bakersfield next year IMO. With Smith, it depends on how he pitches at Bakersfield when he (finally) gets called up this year. If he does well, I expect Smith to start the year at Double-A Pensacola next year.

07-03-2011, 11:44 PM
I'm not saying I expect it, but I could see Corcino skipping Bakersfield. You really don't want your top commodities pitching there unless necessary.
