One of the greatest pitchers I ever saw pitch.
If he'd have pitched for a good team, he'd be in the HOF. I have no doubt about that.
He won 18 games one year for a horrible team.
He was Cincinnati's strikeout pitcher. He'd rack up 10 to 13 K's a game like it was nothing. Had that nasty circle change.

First pitcher I followed, he was the Reds early 80's to me.

Soto was a great pitcher when there was nobody else on the team to like. Unfortunately his career was too short and never could have made the HOF. He had only 5 good years.

Longevity isn't a prerequisite for the HOF. But I realize he may not have a long enough streak of good years, had he played for a winner.
But he was one of the most dominant pitchers of his era.
