View Full Version : Friday 7/15/11 Minor-League Updates
Matt Klinker would like a do-over: 1 IP, 9 H, 7 ER, 0 BB, 1 K. Carolina hasn't batted yet.
Louisville is facing John Danks tonight. Daryl Thompson for the Bats. It's scoreless in the third.
Juan Duran has driven in runs with a couple singles, and Dayton leads 2-0 in the fourth. Daniel Renken looking sharp.
Thompson's final line: 6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 6 K. Bats trail 1-0 in the seventh.
Louisville, without Mesoraco, Alonso, Hermida, Francisco and Cozart, loses 1-0.
Daniel Renken leaves the game after six no-hit innings: 6 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 7 K. Dayton leads 3-0.
Apparently, there was some bad blood at the end of Dayton's victory last night over Quad Cities, revolving around something Drew Hayes said after he closed the game out. Well, the Quads got even tonight. They got 5 in the eighth, capped by a 3-run HR against Hayes, to come back and beat Dayton 6-4. In spite of Daniel Renken's no-ht effort for the first six innings. It was an extremely rare meltdown for Hayes, who has been practically impeccable this year.
And speaking of meltdowns, Billings gave up 4 runs in the top of the seventh (last inning) of its to-be-completed game and lost 5-3. Brooks Pinckard took that one on the chin. Kyle Waldrop hit his first home run.
Brandon Dailey isn't playing tonight for the AZL Reds. Hope it's a simple night off. Gabriel Rosa's hitting third. Tanner Robles is pitching. It's 2-2 in the third.
Sulbaran pitches tonight for Bakersfield.
Guillon pitches game two for Billings.
So far, Guillon having easily his best start of the season. He's only walked one through five, and it's scoreless.
Jon Matthews is 2-3 with a 3B and 4 RBIs, and the AZL Reds lead 8-4 in the sixth. Daniel Tuttle has replaces Robles and struck out five in two innings.
Billings has one hit (Nick O'Shea) through six innings, but is hanging in there, 0-0, thanks to Guillon and now El'Hajj Muhammad.
Edit: They're now headed to extras, scoreless.
