This has really gone on the back burner as of late.

I've been on vacation. :-)

The Knights tie it up 1-1 in the bottom of the inning. Going to the 8th.

Boxberger struck out the first two batters of the 7th for 5 in a row.

Any word on Lotzkar in Dayton? Saw he had a short start, didn't leave injured did he?

Matt Maloney is starting that game in Arizona.

Putting a guy in the 3 hole when he hasn't played organized baseball in 5 years is intriguing. He must have really impressed at the open tryout.

Mudcats lost 4-3. They got screwed badly by the first base ump in the 8th. Three check swings in a row the umpire said he didn't go. The first time there was no question he went. The last two were iffy. Mudcats scored to make it 4-3 but Phipps grounded out with the bases loaded. Hope that's not too much.

So he is on the 40 man which gives him an advantage, and if released someone may pickup up for their MLB squad, but what are the odds Janish never gets back up to the bigs? (Let's say for an extended stay, over 15 days)

Could you do it with only 1 strikeout?

He did. But, he had a hamstring injury. Didn't sound good though, he had to be helped off the field.

Cozart started the season at .059. Small sample size. Janish will not be release, and will likely have a significant amount of MLB time in his career - though maybe not with the Reds.

My guess is Janish's career path will be similar to Juan Castro or Cesar Izturis. I don't think he ever gets serious playing time for the reds again. And after 2011 I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him in another organization.

But, I still think (due to his defense) he'll see lots more mlb service time. And end up with that awesome MLB pension. 100k a year for life baby.
