Juan Duran just jacked one out, his 9th of the year. Dayton is playing an afternoon game at Cedar Rapids, Duran's homer tied it at 1 in the 3rd.

Dragons add a run in the 4th. Torreyes led off with a double, and after a walk and HBP loaded the bases he came home on a Barnhart sac fly.

Stalin Gerson has allowed just one hit but walked three through the first three innings.

He's walked two more in the 4th, and a Cedar Rapids sac fly ties it at 2. Gerson had only allowed 8 walks total in his first 7 starts prior to this.

Dragons go up 3-2 in the 5th. Hamilton's 70th steal puts him in scoring position, and Torreyes brings him home with a single.

Now D'Anna doubles off the right field wall to make it 4-2.

Glad to see Torreyes is busting out of his one day slump

Hamilton was also caught for the 12th time this year stealing. That would put his YTD steal rate at 85.3%.

Gerson has a bit of a mini-meltdown after getting the first 2 outs. He gave up a solo homer, then loaded the bases, but got out of it without any further damage. 4-3 Dayton after 5.

Luca Panerati came in to pitch the 6th and gave up a solo homer. Tied at 4 after 6.

There was a pitch out on that caught stealing, fwiw.

Dragons load the bases in the 7th but can't convert. Time to stretch, still tied at 4.

Panerati gives up a pair of 2 out walks but gets out of trouble. 4-4 after 7.

A Theo Bowe single is the Dragons only hit in the 8th.

Bottom 8 should be over, but Hamilton air mailed a throw over first. Chad Rogers now coming in to pitch.

Sounds like billy Hamilton made a great play to stab a ball well behind 2nd base, throw was a little wide, but the 1b was able to tag the runner to get out of the inning. I'm not sure if you can fault him for the throw or not, but the announcer was certainly excited about the range Billy displayed. However on a routine out, he threw the ball away to put a runner on 1st in the bottom of the 8th.

Lutz snaggs a liner and Dayton gets out of the inning. 4-4, heading to the 9th.

D'Anna and Vidal each single to start the 9th.

That will be Hamilton's 28th error on the year, if I'm not mistaken.

A Donald Lutz single to left scores D'Anna. The throw home gets past the catcher, moving the runners to 2nd and 3rd, error on the OF. Pitching change for Cedar Rapids.

Barnhart flies out to the warning track for his second sac fly of the game. 6-4 Dayton.

Duran is retired to end the inning. 6-4, middle 8th.

Most random pairing I've heard in a commercial in a while: Michelle Obama and Adam Wainright doing a PSA. That's different.

Rogers Ks the leadoff hitter on a high fastball. 2 outs from victory.

Deep fly to left but Duran makes the catch on the warning track. 1 out to go.

This game aside, it seems like Hamilton's error rate has slowed down since earlier in the year. Fact or is my random paying attention to Billy's defensive production playing tricks on me?

Swing and a miss, and this one belongs to the Dragons! 6-4 final. Plus the three teams chasing them in the standings have all lost.

Anyone know why Felix Perez isn't in the lineup today? I'm surprised he'd take a break while on a 9-game hitting streak (12-for-34 with 5 runs, 2 home runs, and 7 RBIs).

He ate Taco Bell today? That is always my guess when a guy gets a day off in the middle of streaks and such.

Yeah, the 5-layer burritos will get ya. I think a lot of people don't realize what a transition it is to go from Cuba to the States.

I'm more worried about Grandal. Yas has not played in three days. I'll find out.

Two home runs for Eric Campbell. It'd be nice if he could break out the way he did at Bakersfield.

It's now 12-2 after eight. Excellent start for Kyle McCullogh.

Yas is still dealing with the forearm issue he had a few weeks ago. He should/could be back in the lineup come Wednesday's opener in Tennessee.

In the Bakersfield fourth, LaMarre and Fellhauer went back-to-back with triples, followed by a HR from Greene. It's 3-1 with Ravin pitching.

Billings blew the early lead, fell behind, then scored four in the eighth to win 8-6. Had four innings of strong relief work from draft picks Ryan Kemp and James Allen.

I care. I'd like to see them make a run in the second half.
