It's July 19th, we are 2 games under .500 The Reds trail Pittsburgh by 4 games in NL Central.

The Reds are tied with Florida for 7th in the Wild Card....10 games back and one game behind Washington.

The Marlins lost 11 in a row, lost 19 of 20 and were 5-23 in June. Meanwhile the Nationals' manager quit.

Then and now

2-out w/RISP:
'11 Reds .208/NL AVG .227
'10 Reds .269/NL AVG .235

Reds: 2 out w/RISP....minus Votto: .185 (63 for 341).
Votto is hitting .483 (14 for 29)

Our pitching has improved now that Bailey and Cueto have settled in after their injuries.
Our hitting has gone South even without looking at the RISP stats. We are getting beat by mediocre pitching time and time again. Rolen, Gomes, Lewis, Janish, and Renteria just have not got it done. Bruce, Stubbs and some others have been streaky. Hanigan has been a disappointment. We need a #4 hitter in the worst way. BP is NOT a #4 hitter. Votto will continue to get pitched around until we get someone to fill the hole, and we will remain around .500 until we come up with a hitter.

I think more Gomes is the answer. Or maybe Hermida can bat 4th. That will solve alot of problems. :p
