When Jose Arredondo got his first major league hit off Brian Wilson, I knew the Reds were going to win right then and there. I had a feeling Renteria would be the one to deliver the clutch hit to score Bruce from second. Sure enough, he hit a ball that was just fair down the right field line to win the game. How many clutch hits does Edgar have in his career now? Anyways, I hope the dramatic win last night is the game that sparks the Reds to make a push at the division. This team is too talented to not make a run where they are within striking distance of leading this division. Two more wins and two losses by the Brewers and Cards put us back in the division race at 4.5 back. I think we can do it! A move for Bourn and maybe a starting pitcher would certainly help! Keep believing! Go Reds! :D

A multiple game win streak has to start with a one game win streak, not to state the obvious.

The Mets had the same record as we did entering our series.

Teams improve their record when they play us.....coming out the other end of this "easier schedule" maybe it won't look so easy.

i mean we have the cubs and astros upcoming, we have a very good chance at sweeping both of them especially the astros if we trade for Bourn or some one else does, their offense, whatever they have left of it, will be shot. They want to trade Wandy and Myers before the deadline. They are building for the future.

I really don't want to be debbie downer.....but if you think we have a "very good chance" of sweeping any team that pays their players to play baseball, you haven't been watching the same team I have this year.

yeah i have... but so far in the 2nd half the pitching has been pretty good add another bat to the lineup and maybe even another starting pitcher and we could see a turn around.

Leake, Cueto, Willis, and Bailey have been pretty good this year Bailey has only had 2 bad starts but is inconsistent and injury prone. Arroyo has sucked, maybe its because of mono or back problems but we cant have him going out there and throwing meatballs, thats why we need another starter added.

We are only 6.5 games out of first place, and just came through a brutal stretch of games, and played poorly, and only dropped 2.5 games.

The pitching cant be great every day.

This season is FAR from over.

Boy, talk about some razor-thin threads to hang a hat on.

Is that a mixed metaphor?

I felt this way after the walk off against Atlanta. Then they went out and got swept by the Mets.

I would be in ecstatic if this happened... the problem is that, even if it did, even if we won 14 of our next 16, the Brewers have to win only 8 of their next 16 to still be ahead of us. (I say 16 because we have already won the first game of a 15-17 run, since every run starts with you last loss). If they stay on their current pace the last couple of months, they win 10 of sixteen and are 2.5 games ahead of us.

It sucks that even after a miracle run we would still be looking up.
