2012 Reds seem destine for more doom & gloom in the future.

Salaries off the books are probably Hernandez, Lewis, Renteria & Cordero, about 17M in savings.

Raises due next year, about 11.5M.
8 players also are abritration eligible, about 4M.
4 League minimum players to replace the above FA, about 2M

I don't see any extra money for improvements.

It might be why they don't pick up BP's option or Votto gets traded. Hmmm.

Votto just sign out his arbitration years, I think they want him to be around for a while.

Good god almighty was that Arroyo extension stupid. He and his 5.31 ERA will be our highest paid player next year. For 12 million dollars. Oh, and don't worry, he'll make $11.5 mil the year after that.
