That's not surprising. It's his MO, keeping players happy and thus they like him. I'm not shocked that he would be high on players list of managers they'd like to play for. I'm more shocked that Ozzie Guillen is 6th than Dusty finishing 5th.

The slideshow only goes down to #15. I'd like to know who was bringing up the rear! The opposite of the player's manager is probably the archetype of the kind of manager that many of us would like to see.

You don't have to love the guy, you just have to play hard for him.

I wonder what some of the criteria behind the question could be? Like the manager they would most like to play for to satisfy their own needs and such or the manager they would most like to play for to win it all....

I can't speak for anyone else, but Joe Maddon tops the players' list and my own.

I think Maddon is amazing. However, I'm far more interested in a poll of ownership on the same subject.

How much of the fundamentals would you pin to a manager? Example: Bruce getting Votto trapped in the first inning of game 2?
