I bet season tickets drastically increase by zero.

So much for Castellini and "we're just not going to lose anymore".

I'm already dreading the Bakermetric 2012 season. Let the frustration begin!!!!!

I hope I am wrong but I could see just about all the same characters back in 2012 with only a cosmetic change or two. I'd like to see a big trade or two happen, but I am not counting on it. That ought to get those phones ringing in sales. 2011 was the year to consolidate gains made in 2010. But Rip Van Jocketty wanted to take the year off. That is one happy camper. He is happy in Cincinnati. Happy with his job. Happy with his team.

I want to say so many things right now. I am filled with so many emotions, none of them positive.

Spot on. :(

But I still hope that this is the classic "vote of confidence" which we all know spells doom for the manager. :)

Get them out. It's not worth it to let all this affect one's health. It's not as if the entire country's going down the toilet. Have you tried transcendental meditation?

I love this team no matter who's at the helm. True fans will agree with me. The only way the manager prevents me from watching on TV or going to the games is when we fall out of the race, at that point I'm less inclined to watch every pitch or spend my money at the ballpark. But it doesn't change my love for the team.

"Of course, he'll be back"

Well that depends on what the definition of "be back" is?

Slick Willie.

I would love to hear "why" Dusty will be back. In 4 seasons we have seen 3 losing and 1 winning. Exactly how does that warrent another season? I doubt any of the cincy beat writers have the...welll you know what to ask Bob.

What if Jocketty gives "it's him or me" ultimatum?

Hmmm.

The poor decision making goes against what I want in my own life, let alone the Cincinnati Reds. I don't tolerate lack of effort, making the same mistakes, wasting money, toothpicks, etc. Why should the Reds?

Jocketty? Ok.

Dusty? Puking blood.

Hmmm.

I think that issue has already been discussed. My bet is Bob told Walt, look I want you back, but I am also not going to fire Dusty, so here is your contract, your choice.

Hmmm.

Do we have some reason to believe that Walt might not want Dusty as manager?

Jocketty hasn't exactly lit the world on fire since the end of last season, so I don't know that he isn't mostly OK with the general direction of the team (including Dusty).

Truer words were never spoken. But I suppose if you are going to sleep through a season, this would be the one to sleep through.

It's the last month of the season with the Reds out of it. We are seeing the young guys and some of them are making good impressions which might have us licking our chops for next season. Hopefully it's not fool's gold.

But right now if this is the real Alonso, Francisco, and Heisey...........and Dusty would play them next season, I might not be that upset.
