Jack Nicholson could be returning to the big screen in a baseball biopic about legendary black player Jackie Robinson.

The 74-year-old, and longtime baseball fan, has apparently been offered a role in the planned film, which will be directed by Brian Helgeland, reported Vulture.

Forget Nicholson, the role has now gone to Harrison Ford.

Legendary Pictures has announced that Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford will headline an upcoming biopic centered around baseball legend Jackie Robinson.

Boseman will star as Robinson, the first African American Major League Baseball player. Robinson joined the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947 and was instrumental in ending racial segregation in the world of professional baseball.

Ford has been cast as Branch Rickey, the MLB executive who signed Robinson to a minor league contract in 1945 and helped him join the Dodgers two years later.

I always picture Burgess Meredith as Branch Rickey - obviously that is not an option though.

It was really quick but did "Jackie" do the home run bat toss and strut in that clip?

It did appear that way. It's hard to tell from the trailer, but I have a feeling that was added for context.

That's Harrison Ford, not Jack

EDIT: Never mind. Didn't read the first part of the thread. Haha

Wow, the rap scene was pretty prevalent in those days, I guess.

Marketing 101: You want kids to buy the soundtrack, throw in some popular style music.

Except kids don't buy music anymore.

Also, Jackie walking up that tunnel looks like late 90s Sammy Sosa.
