We could have a legit rotation for 4 years, with decent starters past that. It looks like Walt has us with a legitimate 4 year window to me... with plenty of time for new prospects to simmer - especially starting pitchers.
24 of our likely 25 - barring trades - 16 of which have 4+ years
4 Years + SP: Latos, Cueto, Leake, Chapman?, Wood

Established Field Starters 4 Years + : Bruce, Stubbs

Potential Starters 4 Years +: Mesoraco, Cozart, Heisey, Janish, Sappelt, Francisco, Frazier

Relief Pitchers 4 Years +: Ondrusek, Lecure

Bailey - 3 years, Hannigan - 3 years

Votto - 2 years, Arroyo - 2 years, Masset - 2 years, Bray 2 years

Rolen - 1 year, Phillips - 1 year

Compare that to 2007: Remaining starters from 2007 are Phillips and Arroyo.
Votto and Hannigan combined for about 100 AB, Bailey pitched some along with Bray and Burton.

I think our window is no more then 3 years depending on the Votto Situation following the 2013 year. if he resigns the window opens for more years if not it closes shut. The Time is Now.

Success over the next two years could prop that window up.

our window is never ending if you draft well

I agree with this. Two years is a long time in the draft/development world. If the Reds continue to draft well, who knows what prospects will be on the brink in two years. If the Reds let Cordero walk, they're going to have 4 picks in the top 75 or so selections of the 2012 draft, so the time to reload is now.

Please, please please let Cordero walk. Unless we can get him for peanuts......
