This Reds team is the prohibitive favorite to win the central and i can say w/o a shadow of a doubt say that this reds team will win the central no doubt about it.

time to stop being the sleeper and walk around w/ that swagger that says "were better than everyone else and not afraid to show it"

Lets kick some ass and dominate this division.

LF = Heisey
CL= Overrated

I'm really, really, really liking this team, compared to the rest of the NLC. Even with Beltran signing with the Cardinals.

I like the team too, but we're far from a lock to win the central. The Cardinals probably still have a better pitching staff than us, and have a good lineup to boot. Losing Albert is tough, but they are getting back Wainwright and just added Beltran. It won't be easy, but we have a shot.

Remember the "duh, winning!" shirts they were parading around in early last season? Let's get to .500 before we worry about swagger.

X2, I often like to replace the term swagger with ignorant arrogance. There are very few teams in the world that deserve to have swagger and the Reds arent one of them.

I think the Reds have improved their team with little loss of talent that would have had an impact over the next 2-3 years. Yonder is the only player we have traded whom might have had a strong impact on the major league roster in 2012/13 or 14. We add a possible dominate SP at little cost and add a dominate bullpen guy. The Cards have new mag't, a pitcher coming off TJ and some aging players in very key positions. Brewers are losing their no. 1 guy to a 50 game suspension possibly and their no. 2 guy to FA so who knows with them...

I agree brm, but this deal for Marshall gave up too many trade chips. I realize that trading within the division is always going to require an overpay to some extent, but I think it could have been done without Sappelt in it, and we could have used him in another trade.

How many teams are going to want a light hitting 4th OF?

Apparently the Cubs did...but my point is you could use him in another package.

The Cubs now have: Sappelt, Soriano, Byrd, Campana, DeJesus, Johnson, Szczur and Jackson for the outfield! I read on MLBTR last night that the Cubs are in full rebuild mode so that would mean atleast Byrd is on the move.

Isn't Colvin still in their organization? I know his BA was like .088 at one point, but they kept throwing him out there.

I believe Colvin is in Colorado now.Thanks. Didn't see him on their roster, just didn't know if he'd been optioned or traded.
