An excellent in-depth look at concussions in high school football by Jonah Lehrer at Grantland.

Wow, haven't had any of my boys play football, but have one asking. Really making me think about not even letting him get started.

I'm glad mine only plays baseball, although as a pitcher, that has some serious concerns in itself. Thank goodness, they've put a damper on the trampoline effect of the bats.

Wow, just watched the hour long Dr. Sanjay Gupta special on concussions for High Schoolers playing football. Amazing how many have permanent issues because of them, and a few have even died.

Yeah, I played in high school, but I don't think I'll be allowing my son to play if he decides he wants to. Not worth it. Some of these parents leave me scratching my head. You'd think THEY would be the ones leading the charge and doing everything they can't to keep kids who shouldn't be playing from playing. Turns out they really aren't in many cases.
