I am convinced that Tom Brady sold his soul to the devil. Good looking, rich, hall of fame quarterback, married to a super model... the exact opposite of my life. That said I am kinda looking forward to this years Super Bowl, probably because Pittsburgh isn't a participant.

I'm an Eli believer. Somehow someway I think he's going to find a way to win the game.

Giants - 31
Patriots - 27

Giants match up extremely well with the Patriots. Especially considering Gronkowski will be limited. Playing in a dome accentuates the speed advantage at receiver and their speed rushers on the d-line. There's always the chance the Belichick comes up with something different to take the Giants by surprise ... or just tapes their walkthrough and steals their plays ... but I doubt it.

Giants 34, Patriots 24.

A bit off topic but...the car commercials for the Super Bowl have been released if you want to see them early. The Camaro ad had me laughing outloud.

I can't stand Belicheat and the Patriots so I will be rooting for the Giants. But... if someone held a gun to my head and forced me to bet my money on a team... I'd probably bet on the Patriots to win, even though I think the Giants match up well against them.

I've picked the Giants in every game so far. I see no reason to change now. Giants will win it in a good, close game, 31-28.

The Packers last year had a pretty rough regular season, by getting hot and playing their way in they rode the momentum all the way. The fact that the Giants can pressure with 4, have already beaten the Patriots this year, and just have that feel of the team that is meant to win, I'm pretty confident in them winning the game.

I won't be upset either way, I have things I dislike about both teams. If the Patriots win I'll be happy for Ochocinco (if they win I at least hope he's active and gets in the game for maybe one catch), and if the Giants win I'm happy because screw the Patriots.

Pats 31, Giants 27. Brady with a 4th quarter comeback drive. I can just see it. After he wins his 4th ring he may be considered the greatest ever. By the way, whos better Montana, Bradshaw, or Brady? (considering he gets that 4th ring)

Or Unitas, Marino, Manning...?

Rings are not the way to crown the best ever QB. Imagine a Super Bowl where it is tied 10-10 late in the 4th quarter. Team A is driving, but Team B intercepts the ball and returns it for a TD. Team B wins the game 17-10. Why is the QB of Team B given a "greatness boost" for something he had no control over? It's silliness.

Using the championship ring logic, Robert Horry is the greatest basketball player of all time.

They are all chasing Bart Starr for most NFL championships. His Packers won five and it isn't his fault there was no Super Bowl at the time of their '61, '62 and '65 titles.

Last year I won our office pool with a prediction of Green Bay 31, Steelers 27, the closest I have ever come to nailing a prediction. I'll never be that lucky again, and, truth be told, I might have picked the Steelers but for the fact I hate them.
I don't like New England either, and based on not much more than that this year I predicted Giants 30, Patriots 17.

This is one of those don't-really-like-either-team years, but I figure I'll end up rooting for the Giants. (As always, the first thing I root for is a game worth watching until the end.) If I had to bet, I'd probably bet on the Patriots while holding my nose. People keep pointing to the Giants' pass rush as the key, and it could be. On the other hand, it's such an obvious key that I figure the Patriots will do what it takes to get them blocked, especially with an extra week to figure out how. And if Brady has some time, the Giants' back seven is nothing special in pass coverage. Not that I would be shocked to see the Giants win either, the Patriots obviously have defensive issues as well.

I'm watching the game at least until halftime but I have some DVDs handy just in case watching NY vs Boston gets to be as annoying as Yankees vs. Red Sox during baseball season. Hoping for some fun commercials and a great halftime show by Madonna.

I'm pretty sure they were expecting something from him or they wouldn't have signed him. Was the Bengals offense really simple or something? Because it seemed like he never figured out what he was supposed to do.

Guessing by your baseball allegiance you are a Rams fan. Welcome to the club. I've long called the Patriots the greatest house of cards in the NFL. Without the bull crap (ESPN & Walt Coleman) they'd still be a laughing stock of a franchise that they are.

Yeah, I have been a fan of the Rams since moving to St. Louis, though I was still a big Chiefs fan for a long time.

I became a Rams fan in my early teens (in the seventies) mostly for inane reasons that I've mostly forgotten, but I've never had anything like as strong an attachment to them as I have to the Reds. I hate to say it on this board, but for the last decade plus, ever since I attended a game in Pitlsburgh, I've rooted for the Steelers as much as I have the Rams.

I will say, though, that Spygate left a bad taste in my mouth. Before that, I respected the Patriots, but ever since I root against them every chance I get. It was good to see the Giants win last night and see a Marshall alum (hey, I root for WVU but my master's came from Marshall) accidentally score the winning touchdown.

The Patriots are a mirage of their former selves. They have a very young defense with no running game to speak of. Everything in the offense is geared around Tom Brady, two TE's, and a questionable supporting cast. That being said, they are the best the AFC had to offer.

The Ravens have more balance than the Patriots, but Joe Flacco has been pretty inconsistent and the defense is aging rapidly. The Steelers are aging as well on defense but need to return to their identity of being a run first team. I don't see hiring Todd Haley accomplishing that. Cincinnati is a wildcard with a bright future but you have to ask if Mike Brown will screw it up.

The AFC West is abysmal to even mention any teams. Houston is an elite QB away from being a real contender in the AFC although I look for the future of that division to run through Andrew Luck and the Colts.

If you would have told me three years ago before the Colts played the Saints in the Super Bowl that the NFC was the superior league I would have laughed you off of this thread. It is pretty telling though that a NFC WC team the past two years has knocked off a heavily favored team from the AFC.

It seems as if the NFL goes through cycles where one conference is clearly superior to the other. In the 1970s the AFC was unquestionably the better conference with the Dolphins, Steelers and Raiders rivaled only by the Cowboys. After a brief period of rough parity between 1980 and 1983, the NFC then had a long reign as the dominant conference from 1984 through 1996, lead by the 49ers, Giants, Redskins, Cowboys and Bears. The Broncos upset of Green Bay in the 1998 Super Bowl seemed to herald a changing of the guard, lead first by Denver and the Ravens, and then by the Patriots, Steelers and Colts. Now it appears we may have another change, as the Giants, Saints and Packers were probably the three best teams in the NFL now (and the last three Super Bowl winners).
