View Full Version : Losing Money on a Ballclub?

Reading what the projected bids are for the Dodgers makes me wonder. It looks like McCourt will profit between $500 million and $1 Billion on the sale of the team. Current projections of the Reds estimate that if Castellini were to sell the team today he would average about $16 million per year return on the club over what he paid for the Reds.

So my question, doesn't it seem a bit backhanded to complain about losing all your money (as an owner) of a team, when selling your asset would be a capital gain that would make any stock owner jump in joy to see similar gains?

Yeah it does but they have so much money they look at it like we would for a few thousand they see it like that for a few million
