I am watching this series on ESPN classic. The Cardinals vs. Twins, Game 7 and the Cards have to have the worst hitting lineup in game 7 history.

LF Vince Coleman
SS Ozzie Smith
2B Tom Herr
1B Jim Lindeman
CF Willie McGee
DH Tony Pena
RF Jose Oquendo
3B Tom Lawless
C Steve Lake

Definitely a pre-steroid AstroTurf built team. Can anyone think of a less potent lineup in a World Series?

Wait a minute! Didn't the White Sox have a team in the 50's called the hitless wonders? Maybe they were worse:confused:

Thought I would do a quick check on this lineups OPS for that season.

Coleman .721 OPS
Smith .775
Herr .677
Lindeman .639
McGee .746
Pena .588
Oquendo .621
Lake .635
Lawless .299 in 25 AB that year

Cardinal fans couldn't have been too optimistic going into that game.

I'm assuming these guys were hurt.
Clark 1.056
Pendleton .772
