After the 2005 season, the Reds had endured 5 consecutive losing seasons, their longest such streak in 50 years, under the ownership of Carl Lindner. Castellini led a group that purchased the Reds from Lindner for $270 million.

So if my math is correct the value of the Reds' franchise has increased approximately 154 million dollars in six seasons. Or, roughly, 26 million dollars a year.

Not necessarily. I'm sure there are a handful of teams that are worth more. The Yankees and Red Sox for starters. They just haven't gone up for sale recently.
