Reds:

Tim Fortugno (50)- 40 innings for the 1994 Reds. Best known for giving up George Brett's 3000th hit. Started only five games in his career, but one was a complete game 3-hit shutout.

Barney McCosky- A brief stint with the '51 Reds; best known as a local Detroit boy who made good with the Tigers.

Others:

Mark Teixiera (32) -Has homered from both sides of the plate in the same game 12 times, a major league record.

Bret Saberhagen (48) -Best known for his weird pattern of having great seasons in odd-numbered years and mediocre seasons in even-numbered years.

Sam Chapman -Like McCosky, a player who lost several good years to World War Two. A two-sport star, his football coach in high school was Roy Riegels, famous for running the wrong way in the Rose Bowl.

Ossee Schreckengost -Don't hold me to that spelling...Light-hitting turn-of-the-century catcher known for his association with Rube Wadell, both as a batterymate and as fellow lovers of carousing. I remember reading somewhere that Rube once had a clause put in his contract forbidding Ossee from eating crackers in bed.

One of the players mentioned in Dave Frishberg's classic recording 'Van Lingle Mungo'.
