Being a Cardinal fan....no. Not cause I think he's greatly help your team. The kid is a headcase. I assumed his horrible play was due to being under La Russa, nope. He's continued his horrible play in Toronto.

He hates it in Toronto....IMO he'd be a pain in the ass against the Cards with his gigantic chip on his shoulder. He's very talented just like Stubbs but with better baseball instincts.

I wouldn't do it....but also wouldn't be surprised if it worked kinda well for a good while.

Stubbs may be a helluva teammate, but the kid simply refuses to face reality and do the obvious. All I heard in that ST interview were excuses.

What I'd be counting on is the .173/.201/.316 line in 140 PA he gave the Jays last year.

To make them even consider it, that is.

Replace Stubbs with Rasmus in CF and this offense could click.

Remember, Rasmus OPSed 0.859 at age 23 for the Cardinals in 2010.

I'd love to see him face his former team as a Red.

My son and I withstood 100 degree temps and a rain delay and obtained seats on the Reds dugout near the stairs to the on deck circle.....Coco struck out Colby Rasmus in the top of the 9th to end the inning....Ryan Hanigan tossed the ball to my six year old on the way in.

With that said, it's not going to happen and it's purely hypothetical.
I admit it's a long shot, but if the Jays weren't totally sold on him it's possible Walt could pull it off.

It is clear to me that this team will not make the playoffs with the lineup it currently has.

It was vulnerable to RHP last year and all Jocketty did in the off-season was trade or release every LH bat except Votto and Bruce.

I'd love to see him face his former team as a Red.You just THINK you would....he showed great promise as a rookie, hitting HRs with an easy swing that reached the upper deck, but when he got that 5 mil. contract, the next year he was like a different player. Not only did his hitting go south, (his S.O's rivals Stubbs) but his fielding did as well. He is afraid of the wall, and according to guys that played with him in the minors, he always was.

Then there is his Father, the ultimate "stage Mom" who would insist on frequent meetings with LaRussa to "correct" his sons usage. Tony tolerated the guy, but Dusty might punch him in the face.

I'll add this too. Colby's big problem here was his work ethic. The reason Jon Jay got more.time was due to his willingness to work on his problems and his ability to take constructive criticism. Colby listens to daddy. There was even an article from Toronto saying the Jays would work with Colby's dad.
