View Full Version : Just like 2010

If the Reds hold this lead, they stand 5-8, the Cards, 9-4. Exact same records both teams had on this date in 2010.

Now it doesn't seem like the Reds are playing as well as in 2010, but I am sure I felt they were sub-standard then too.

Go win the pennant.

I'd rather not make the playoffs than get swept and embarrassed again

Nor would I, but the point is it might be a tad early to give up on the season. They've got to win the series this weekend - that would boost morale on here big time.

Really? I'm sorry, this sentiment makes no sense. Making the playoffs will increase revenue, give us a better shot at landing free agents or re-signing players, and generate interest in the ball club. Not to mention that once you make it to the playoffs, anything can happen. Just look at the Card's last year. There is no way they were the top team in the Majors last year. They weren't even the top team in the NL Central. Yet they work their way towards a title. Not wanting too make the playoffs because you don't want to get "embarrassed" is irrational.

Ridiculous.

It would be more embarrassing to miss the playoffs, all things considered.

As disappointing as the 2010 playoffs turned out to be, the season leading up to that was worth it.

^^^ YEP!

I want another Summer/Fall to spend like that, even if we go 3 and out.

Seriously? You would want to avoid failing by failing worse? That's the attitude of a "content loser" if you ask me.
