Hey! They did win. A rare occurence for that Reds team.

Amazing how many pitchers started either for or against the Reds on this date. Mizell,Humbert and Luque all pitched for or against the Reds. Especially good day for Humbert as he won both games for the Cards in 1942 and 1947.
