This is impossible. The Reds were said by some last summer to be one of those teams that don't use statistical analysis.

Everyone uses it. Not everyone uses it properly.

I am not saying the Reds do or don't use it properly. I have no clue.

Actually, this job mainly consists of showing Jocketty and Baker how to turn on their Commodore 64's and join one of many AOL baseball chat rooms ;)

I used to crush it in Micro League Baseball.

It's actually just a kindle version of "The Book," co-authored by Dusty and Hank Aaron.

I think the new hire will be assisting Dusty in making out gameday lineups.

D'oh!

Of course they do although using it "properly" is highly subjective.

But there were actually people on here saying they didn't think the Reds used statistical analysis.

I thought this thread was going to be about a lead off hitter.

As far as I'm concerned, nobody has been able to make a better computer baseball game. Micro League Baseball rules!

Who argued the Reds completely ignored statistics?

Who argued the Reds completely ignored statistics?

Does it matter who?

The people that argued that know who they are. I'm not trying to call anyone out specifically.

is this an unpaid internship? I'm being dead serious with the question.

It says FLSA: Hourly, Non Exempt

I'm guessing that means it's paid but I'm not positive

Non-exempt means that you are eligible for overtime, so yes, it's a paid position.

Its just you went out of your way to make the point pretty strongly a couple of times and I don't remember anyone arguing the Reds don't use statistics so the question was asked.

I was really hoping it was the hitting coach position or maybe even the manger job. Oh well, continue on.

I went out of my way to say it because it still shocks me anyone believes that. And there definitely were at least a few people that were saying as much.

Here's a thread that has links to an interview with Nick Krall and an article by Paul Daugherty (quotes from Jocketty) that provide insight into the approach that the Reds FO uses regarding stats.

You really like quoting/linking yourself, don't you? lol

Appreciate the link, nonetheless.
