Bryce Harper with a cut above his eye.

According to a tweet by the Washington Times’ Amanda Comak, Harper hit a wall with his bat after making an out, and Nationals manager Davey Johnson said the bat came back and hit Harper.

The Washington Post’s Adam Kilgore tweeted that Harper had a golf-ball sized lump over his left eye and clumps of blood in his hair, and needed 10 stitches.

It's hard not to laugh, but I guess you just do stupid things at 19 years old.

19 year olds are hardly the only ones to hit something out of frustration after an at bat.

Harper might miss a couple of games according to what his skipper said.

He was bleeding pretty good out in RF from what I saw on TV. I bet he snuck out there without telling anyone or they never would have let him back on the field needing 10 stitches.

Davey said hed miss at least 2 games. I remember when i was playing high school basketball and after a loss I punched a locker. Broke a bone in my right hand and missed the rest of the season. Young and dumb is what I consider this.

I truly don't think anything sinister is behind Harper's story...but that had to be some sort of awkward looking "whack" at the wall, no?

Harper is supposedly going to be in the lineup tonight.
