The Rage

That's a flyout in most parks.

Bailey and Arroyo have had at least 3-4 each that would be flyouts in most parks. Of course you get less doubles.

What the hell is Welsh talking about? You go back to the bag on a fly to the outfield and watch and also listen to the 3rd base coach, it's simple base running, that is taught way before HS! But thanks Zimmerman and the 3rd base coach, we needed those blunders.

Reds need to pitch all of them like they are pitching Harper.

No argument here. You have a pitcher at the 100-pitch mark in a 1-1 game, and you get your leadoff hitter on ... and let the pitcher bat and then still yank him? That's so mind-boggling stupid, words can't describe it. I don't want to go on a Dusty rant. It's too easy.

Chapman throws a 110mph seed to first.

My God, that was a missile, and it looked like it was chest high right to the bag, Votto kinda bailed and I can't really blame him.

Well was looking at tickets to go to the Rockies series this month but watching this team makes it really hard to click the buy button...

This is a really good Nats team, and in a lot of ways they mirror this Reds team. Strong pitching, strong defense, and struggling offensively. The only obvious difference is the Nats have one more strong starter in their rotation. We really need Bailey to become that third strong starter for us.

That is after the bases get loaded with no one out. That's how they are going about now.

While I tend to agree -- scoring like we do won't add up to many wins no matter how good the pitching is.

The Nats and Reds are about even in position players, Cincy better RF (for now), 1B
The Nats better a C, 3B, LF
Other spots pretty even
Cueto is only starter that makes their rotation

We would have much preferred a full swing and miss.
But your right, it was a BS call, cause you never know...yea 98% chance he makes the last out, IMO. But he may have plunked him or threw a 100 mph fast ball and hit the barrel of Ludwicks bat.

Rodriguez throws every bit as fast as Chapman. WOW!

Minus the black hole in LF, this is about as good of a lineup as we can run out there.

One run, five hits. That is scary if this is the best the Reds can do.

I know a lot of folks look down their noses at small BUT if this team is going to be involved in a lot of close, low-scoring games, it would behoove this team to become proficient at it. One run in a 2-1 or 3-2 game is huge. Learn to bunt. Learn to sacrifice. Learn to choke up and make contact when guys are in scoring position and there are less than two outs. Take pitches. Take a walk. Use your brain when you are on the bases.

But nope. We are in store for more strikeouts. Boneheaded base running. First-pitch swinging. We are not gonna clog those bases. And we definitely are not gonna walk our way out of this slumps.

2012 is starting to look pretty much like 2011.

See why I was mad.....no opportunity....takes away the "you never know" Tonight Heisey was 0-2 and had a check swing go his way and then he worked a walk extending the game for one of the top endings in GABP history.
