The only protection for Votto is another Votto, and there aren't any.

Sometimes a pitcher is good enough to strike out the umpire.

In the post-steroid era, what if small ball is the new moneyball?

When a young pitcher "learns to pitch," what does he learn and why doesn't anyone write it down?

What hat should Rolen wear into the Hall of Fame?

An umpire who called the actual strike zone would probably get kicked out of baseball.

If only Homer Bailey's parents had named him Called Third Strike.

This ump would call strikes on an intentional walk.

Is it possible to have a Hall of Fame career then keep playing until it's gone?

Getting a batter out is a chess match. So essentially they're learning to play chess.

I imagine a name like Gregory Ignatius Daniel Peter would probably be his brother?

Or possibly a pope.

Or possibly a pope.

A pope who is a major out machine for the Vatican City Saints. I don't imagine the Holy See will be picking him for their entry in the World Baseball Classic.
