If the Reds could swap managers with any other team in the bigs right now whom would YOU like to see managing the Reds?

Pete Rose-not going to happen obviously.

Realistic choices...

1. Joe Morgan with Barry Larkin as the hitting coach-they know baseball and obvious ties to the Reds.

2. Terry Francona-played for the Reds and knows how to win.

3. Sweet Lou-maybe he would come out of retirement?

4. Tony Perez-he was never given a fair chance, although I'd still love for Davey Johnson to be the manager.

5. Johnny Bench-why has he never tried to manage?

You have to pick from a present ML manager. Plus why do people think ex great players make good managers when history shows otherwise..

Joe maddon or ron washington by far.

I am going to say Davey Johnson. I don't know if he has that Phil Jackson thing going where he seems to end up with the right team at the right time, but all the dude does is win.

I like Joe Maddon as well as he seem like the anti-Dusty Baker.

I would love either of these 2, but doubt they are realistic.

We've been over this quite a bit - the best choice would be Tony La Russa if Walt could find a way to coax him out of retirement.

However, I think Terry Francona is the next guy in line...

Not sure I'd be happy to see Terry as the manager, but I think he would at least be an improvement.

I trade him for the Japanese manager Wen Wan Sun.

People I think could manage better than Dusty Baker:

Tom Hanks in his role as Jimmy Dugan.

Will Ferrell's impression of Harry Caray.

Hanigan as player/manager

The Angels have fired hitting coach Mickey Hatcher...maybe Scoscia is next.
He would be a good fit.

Joe Maddon is easily the best manager in baseball right now, I'd jump at a chance to get the anti-Dusty.

It's funny to see what people say though. Everyone hates Dusty until the likely alternatives are considered.

Why would you want him. Have you seen Louisville's record lately?
