How about a starter in the 8th with only 90 pitches?

frazier not a very good defensive player

Todd Frazier is doing an adequate job at 3B as Rolen's replacement but he looks awkward anytime he tries to backhand a grounder. I'm hoping Scott will take some time to work on Frazier's fielding.

I know that its hard to change the way the game has been played and called since its beginning but with the modern tech we have these days I find it hard to believe that we couldnt come up with a better system then a human eye

Yes, I tip my cap to Mr. Leake. I really was dreading this outing. But he has pitched really well.

Let him start the 9th and if someone gets on base then you go and get him.

herbdizzle
05-21-2012, 09:24 PM
I have to say that Leake has been pitched a helluva game tonite and looks like he did in the 2nd half of last year. If he continues giving solid efforts and Latos improves his innings to 6+ instead of 5 then the Reds pitching staff begins looking REALLY strong with the movement of Chapman to closer.

Maker_84

keep Leake in for the 9th. no need to use our pen in this game

I don't think that will ever be an option. Technology has a way of failing at times. What happens when your strike zone system freezes up in a crucial moment? I think you have to have an actual human being back there doing it.

Star of the Game:

3. Marshall (I will still never forgive him for Saturday).

2. Stubbs

And the #1 star:

Mike Leake

Good thing the organization was patient with him. Hes back in form.

Stray

Leake is a little like Arroyo, when they hit their wall things can get ugly fast. He was basically at 100 pitches so I didn't have any issues handing a 3 run lead to the pen for one inning.

Nice to see Stubbs and Leake lead us to a win.

It was an excellent play that set the tone for the 9th inning.....it's the 3rd time I've seen him slide feet first to catch a ball coming in.....might be his last for a while as he somehow jammed his shoulder sliding feet first????
