He needs to Reverend Jim it...Taxi reference for the oldtimers in here (when the Rev goes for his drivers license renewal).

Leake and t-shirts. Chapman and speeding... the Bengals probably are looking at the Reds as pretty bad ass. :)

Grove City? Why was he that far north? When did the plane get into CVG?

Columbus at 1am in between games (after a road trip)

93 mph

Suspended license

Not the worst thing that could happen but it looks like someone needs to take Aroldis under their wing.

That sounds about right. The guy likes things to go fast.

I hate to make light of a foolish bit of driving, but at least he wasn't going 105 MPH.

For those of us outside of Ohio, how far is Grove City from Cincinnati?

I have heard that there's a really good Cuban sandwich shop in Hilliard. Don't know if that's true, though.

Doubt they are open that late though.

Fay just tweeted me that the meeting after the game that cancelled the FSO post game interview from Dusty was about the Chapman situation. Don't expect much to happen. Guy was speeding and had an expired license. Kyle Busch had a similar problem last year and the sanctioning body did nothing. Expect that here.

It's around 90 miles, so about an hour and a half. Less than an hour at Chapman's speed though. ;)

I heard Chapman told the cop to get his radar gun checked since the ones at the ballpark have clocked him as high as 105. ;)

93 MPH isn't all that bad up in that neck of the woods... The cops up that way have been known to get caught on their personal motorcycles at 150 MPH

On a serious note, with what the team has invested in him, you would think it would be in everyone's best interest to see that this sort of thing doesn't happen. It's one thing to lose a pitcher to a baseball related injury, another thing altogether to lose one to stupidity.

Yup. Starliner Diner. But he would have been on the wrong side of town for that. Unless he was planning on hitting 270 west.....hmmmm....

I was in the courtroom yesterday for two counts of driving under suspension (among other things). They were both reduced to failure to show a license, which carries no points on my license.

Don't let them drive? No out of town girlfriends during baseball season?

Then there's that whole problem with baseball players siring children with several different women.

How about a "stupidity clause"? Hit them with a hefty fine. That usually sends a signal ($$ out of wallet). Get a citation for doing more than 20 mph over the speed limit... cha-ching. Drive with a suspended license... cha-ching. If you do not do stupid things, then you do not worry about cha-ching. I know... it is not fair to stupid ballplayers (as the Union would say).

It's a speeding ticket, for goodness sake.

his license was suspended for speeding 4 times in the last few years and not showing up to court, they just reported on WCPO

Standard protocol. Most courts will give liberal continuances to a defendant in order to allow him/her to bring proof that they've remedied the issue with their license.

Usually the only reason stop in Grovetucky is....

- They need to stretch their legs
- They need to eat
- They need gas
-They need to potty

Beyond that there is no acceptable reason to ever stop in Grove City, OH.

I pick my buddy, who lives in Columbus, up there at the waffle house across from T-Jays at exit 100. Chapman was at 101, basically a stones throw away from downtown Columbus.

No it's not. Grove City is basically everything 270 and south for about 5 miles along 71. I lived just inside 270 for a while and it sucks. Glad I moved north to Westerville/New Albany area.

Trade Chapman to the Mariners for Miguel Olivo. That would teach him.

He was picking her up from the Columbus airport. Her flight to Cincinnati must have been rebooked into there instead of waiting wherever else she was (Atlanta, NYC) until morning. Other than that, I can't imagine why she would fly into an airport 100 miles away at midnight.

Bumped into Aroldis downtown today after the game. Got to take a look at his car, which was an amazing machine to behold. Then I saw him drive off, and I have to say that I don't think he learned his lesson from this incident. Dude likes to go fast.
