I wonder if any other major league team has 14 players that were originally drafted or signed as undrafted or international free agents on their current major league roster? Hmmm.

Phillips and Arroyo were picked up for a song.
Arredondo was a steal.
Hoover may end up being a steal too.
Masset has been a steal considering KGJ was at the end.
Bray and Kearns are the only ones still playing in the majors from that trade.

In terms of the draft, the Reds really did well supplying their major league roster from 2005 'til 2007. Although Alonso (2008 - 1st) and Grandal (2010 - 1st) are current or will be major leaguers. Not much looking good of the remaining draft picks from 2008 on. Hamilton (2009 - 2nd), Joseph (2009 - 3rd), maybe Sulbaran (2008 - 30th), 2010 looks weak of the remaining, and then Stephenson and Cingrani from 2011. Maybe Vidal. Lutz was a European pick up. Corcino was undrafted but signed. Minors are weak right now with all the guys on the major league roster and the other traded away.

Excellent work. And while I'm far too lazy to do something like that myself, I'm not too lazy to correct it by saying that Simon was actually a waiver claim from the O's. ;)

2008 on isn't as barren as it looks draftwise but the Reds have traded a ton of those kids. Boxberger is on that list, too remember. Then the Marshall deal and those guys. Plus Grandal and Alonso. Add all those players back into what is in the minors and the Reds are still producing players okay - its just been traded down quite a bit right now. This June draft is important - the Reds have a couple extra picks and need to fill those holes with quality prospects.
