No Stubbs tonight. No roster move....yet.

Cozart SS
Heisey CF
Votto 1B
Phillips 2B
Bruce RF
Frazier 3B
Ludwick LF
Hanigan C

Looks like a lineup that will struggle to score runs. A lot of K's again?

Ironman92
06-06-2012, 03:10 PM
I'm interested. Heisey has looked rough the past 8 AB...but batting 2nd it's ok to bunt and there is little RBI pressure.

We'll see.

Phillips needs to step up and take the ball to RF.

So far no roster move for Stubbs. Costanzo sent to AAA

Stray
06-06-2012, 03:20 PM
I heard Stubbs hurt himself but not much else. Hopefully it isn't too bad...we aren't really rolling in OF depth.

At least in GABP the dropoff in defense shouldn't be noticed as much.

That's every game. We dont have any lineup with anyone on the roster that wouldn't struggle

Phillips and Votto both have OPS's over 1.000 against Lincoln; however, the sample sizes are extremely small.

McCutcheon (.888 OPS in 32 ABs) and Jones (.839 OPS in 28 ABs) have had some success against Cueto.

Stray
06-06-2012, 07:01 PM
Cueto is due for a shutdown start.

06-06-2012, 07:01 PM
To me this is a huge game for Johnny C. This is where your ACE steps up and puts a stop to losing streaks and it's at home and he has not pitched overally well in his last 3-4 starts so we need to see a strong 7 innings and less then a couple of runs tonight against the Pirates...

texasdave
06-06-2012, 07:06 PM
Nice pic of Joey Votto if it shows up. From CNNSI. Fouling those pitches off and staying alive.

Reds win 6-2 or lose 2-1. I am leaning towards the former.

texasdave
06-06-2012, 07:16 PM
Cueto on pace for 27 Ks.

texasdave
06-06-2012, 07:19 PM

Tigers really struggling. losing 3-0 to Indians in the 1st. Hope their struggle continue through this weekend here!

texasdave

Any word in the pregame about Stubbs. Or is it a state secret?

texasdave
06-06-2012, 07:24 PM
Two outs, nobody on. Votto ought to feel right at home.

texasdave
06-06-2012, 07:25 PM
I think GABP has a slow gun.

texasdave
06-06-2012, 07:26 PM
Two pop ups and a weak grounder. No score after one.

40YrRedsFan
06-06-2012, 07:28 PM
Votto is hitting almost 100 points higher than anyone on our roster, except Hanigan and Leake. He must feel like the Lone Ranger.

texasdave
06-06-2012, 07:30 PM
Leaves lots of room for improvement.

texasdave
06-06-2012, 07:31 PM
Votto digs out a throw in the dirt for out number two. DatDude says thank you.

Easy second for Cueto. Good to see.

I keep waiting for Frazier to come back down to earth- but he keeps hitting.

texasdave
06-06-2012, 07:42 PM
Frazier needs to throw his bat every time up. Seems to get good results with that approach.

texasdave
06-06-2012, 07:46 PM
I'd like to see a lot more three-run bombs instead of all of these solo blasts. Reds need a couple guys that excel at getting on.

brm7675

Oh sure...NOW Brandon goes deeeeeeep where was that last night..

brm7675
06-06-2012, 07:48 PM
With how Fraizer has played, I just don't see how Dusty can even consider playing Rolen full time upon his return. Rolen needs to become that "Sunday" player and maybe bat off the bench, or late inning defensive replacement, but no more full time playing.

texasdave
06-06-2012, 07:50 PM
Cueto appears to be sharp early.

Obviously I'm not talking about JC. Two seeing eye grounders, a foot to either side, and we'd be in the 9th still 5-0.

I'm talking about a fastball right over the plate to the one guy on the Pirates who can really hit.
