We kept the right catcher, he just walked. Give mes a few years he'll be batting cleanup.
Not Hanigan.

I'd have kept Grandal and traded Mesoraco.

Chris Heisey is nothing more than Defensive player his hitting is awful this year.

Now lets have Chapman own in then in the top and a Votto or to make up for earlier a Phillips walk off

Ironman92
06-07-2012, 10:47 PM
Heisey was rolling...rolling. Got sit a couple in a row and he's looked completely lost at the plate. He was spraying line drives all May....he either strikes out or flies out to 1st. He's pooped to the infield 4 times in two games.....that's not close to spraying line drives. He'll be down in the .230's soon if Jacoby doesn't help him.

On the flipside his defense has been saving runs and just awesome coverage out there.

Kudos to Luddy for gettin it going.

Any pitcher that throws him a first pitch strike should be immediately demoted

Well they beat Chapman, gotta give em credit.

The bottom of the 10th was a trainwreck tho.

This was just one of those games we were never ment to win...

I don't see how you can believe that statement, with the real "Big Red Machine" I never had that feeling. The Reds themself expected to win every game during the '75-76' season's. The above statement is what's wrong with this current team! It's not OK to lose, yes it will happen, but never accept it.

I don't give them credit at all. If our all or nothing (mostly nothing) offense
could muster a hit (besides a solo HR) once in a while, we would be running away with the division.

Anyone notcie all of Ludwicks hits come on the first pitch of the AB. IF he goes into a count its over, as you saw his last AB

4 runs against the pirates should have been more than enough, even in this rinky dink pall park.

Never said it was ok. Said never ment to win. You have games like that every season. Come on two guys hitting under .200 drive in winning run vs Chapman...

Eh they got back to back doubles on Chapman, that is deserving of some credit.

That's not to say we didn't play a terrible game, we did.

What was the consensus here on not bunting Phillips?

My first reaction was to let Phillips hit...mainly because Frazier hadn't looked good all night and you know they were walking Bruce. After thinking about it I think the bunt was still the right call. You gotta play it right and have faith in your players to do their job....if they screw up you deal with it.

No way should Phillips bunt there. Had 2 hits coming into the AB and if he gets on you have a legitmate chance to win not tie.

Phillips cost the Reds the game on both ends.

You have to advance that runner..bunting gives u best possibility.
