If the Reds win tonight they will take the series and “those people” will state how they should win a series against the lowly Pirates. If the Pirates win they will take the series and “those people” will claim that Pittsburgh is on its way to the NL Central title.

Win or lose....I don't care about the Pirates. Clint Hurdle does well with young teams.....but if the Reds play near their potential it won't matter what the Pirates do.....and if I'm wrong and the Reds play to their potential and the Pirates still win the division.....we'll tip our caps to them.

If the Pirates win 75 games it will be an upset. You have to score more than 3 runs a game. This isn't 1968.

I can see the Pirates putting up around 80-83 wins this season which is a huge jump for them. they have put up how many the past two nights? They have young players learning and getting better...

Like to see a quality performance out of Leake.
Votto fields a ground ball and takes it to the bag himself for the first out.
Walker Ks. Nice.
Leake Ks McCutchen and dispatches the Pirates on nine pitches.

Why? When you know the RF has a gun for an arm and your runner isn't real fast and Bruce is up next...WTH would you send him?

Because with 2 outs the guy in 2nd base is running on contact. Even though it was a hard hit ball it still took a perfect throw to barely get him.

And lets not act like Bruce has been on some crazy hot streak lately lol.

Yeah no doubt. The lineup they rolled out tonight has a combined batting average of about .200 in the 4-9 spots. In fact outside of Walker and McCutchen nobody is over .250. 4 runs with no walks, errors or HRs is pretty weak.

Nix is a career .247 hitter with a whopping 66 bombs

Actuall now that I think about it, compared to the Red's bench, a .247 hitter is a HOF candidate.

No way. Hurdle manages every game like its the 7th game of the world series. Their bullpen, which is their strength, will fall apart in August just like last year. Plus they have no offense and Morton is now on the DL.

If they win the division it will be because the Reds and the Cards totally underachieved.
