Verlander lost last 3 correct? Does that mean he's due for a masterpiece or that the streak continues?

Ironman92

My guess is that several of the Reds who whiff a good bit will pull their man card out and look not to strike out and will hit many 1st and 2nd pitch strikes up the middle or soft liners oppo.

***and my #1 prediction Ryan Ludwick will NOT swing at the first pitch TWICE this game.

Why is this team playing short handed

Stubbs already out for 3 days will not be ready for at least another 7 days according to Baker.

Baker always give a player 1 extra day after they say they are ready

added up that is 11 days

Being short handed for 11 days is not worth getting Stubbs back 4 days before he could return off the DL

We will beat Verlander or he'll whiff 16.

I could see him getting 16K and the Reds winning

as long as Arroyo can gave a good game

Ironman92

as long as Arroyo can gave a good game

I can't.....to me if he's in long enough to get to 16...we're not going to get him after 8 2/3 or whatever. You'll see highlights of him in the 9th inning on pitch #122 throwing 100mph....he doesn't lose those. We gotta catch him in the first 3 innings throwing 93-96.

I think the highest number of whiffs he can have and us still win is 9.

Votto on facing Verlander (he is such a competitor)....yeah, should be good one MVP facing another. Lol Surprising answer...but true. You could tell he was kinda thinking...how about you go ask Verlander what it's going to be like facing me. #hebacksitup

Bailey should take a note from Verlander: Power the gun up slowly. Allows your arm to get warm and then heat up as the game goes along.

I think he tries to come out throwing to hard, which in turn, messes up his mechanics, screws up his offspeed stuff and in turn, doesn't throw as hard as he should. We really need that 95-98mph stuff to give this staff a boost.

All things considered this has been a successful 5 innings for the Reds. Verlander vs. Arroyo and we're still tied...and Verlander is almost at 120 pitches.

Wish we coulda got a couple of more big hits, but there's a reason this guy is the reigning Cy Young and MVP winner.

AnythingCincy

Votto needs to take Bruce and beat how to bat into him.

mrherd05
06-09-2012, 05:55 PM
there was no failing by Jay in that at bat, he knocked JV out of the game with four more times for the Reds to come to the plate.
